For the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, the Communist Party of India (CPI) has decided to field Kanhaiya Kumar from the Begusarai Lok Sabha seat of Bihar. After this, it was reported that Lalu Prasad Yadav’s party, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) will not support Kanhaiya Kumar’s candidature from Begusarai Lok Sabha seat. But now the Communist Party of India (CPI) has completely dismissed these rumors.

Kanhaiya Kumar is accused of indulging in anti-trafficking slogans inside the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in 2016 and organizing programs against Afzal Guru’s hanging. Regarding the case, Delhi Police filed a charge sheet against several people including Kanhaiya Kumar. The Communist Party of India (CPI) cleared the matter and said that even after filing charge sheet against Kanhaiya Kumar, he will contest from Begusarai seat.

The police said they have proof to continue against previous JNU Students’ Union chiefs Kanhaiya Kumar, Umar Khalid, Anirban Bhattacharya and seven understudies from Jammu and Kashmir. A charge sheet was documented today against previous understudy association Kanhaiya Kumar, Umar Khalid and eight others for supposedly holding a “hostile to national” occasion at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi in February 2016.

The police said there is no immediate proof against 36 other charged, including Communist Party of India pioneer D Raja’s little girl Aprajita, yet they can be called for addressing.
