New Delhi President Ramnath Kovind on Thursday termed the Modi government’s decision to give 10 percent reservation to economically backward classes of upper castes as “historic” and said that this will help the poor to get justice. Addressing a joint meeting of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members on the commencement of the budget session of Parliament, Kovind said, “This historic decision will help in getting justice for the poor girls and boys who were deprived of their rights due to poverty.
Kovind said that the government is engaged in trying to pass three divorce bills. At present, three divorce bills are pending in the Rajya Sabha. He said the government is engaged in trying to pass 3 divorce bills to help Muslim women to get rid of the fear of life and to live like women. He also mentioned the efforts of quick justice in cases of crime against women.
